Mission showcases UK display technology research

OLED-T is participating in a UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) display mission to Asia in order to showcase the advantages of display technology research and development (R and D) in the UK. The tour will visit Korea, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan in a bid to strengthen existing research partnerships in the UK. The ultimate goal of the mission is for companies in Asia to establish new, or expand existing, R and D operations in the UK or collaborate with UK companies on R and D activity.

Joining OLED-T on the tour, among others, are DuPont Teijin Films, Cambridge Display Technology and Exxelis.

Mission members touched down in Taiwan on Wednesday 15th November 2006, and during their time in Asia will have the opportunity to meet with companies such as Samsung and LG Philips and other major display related manufacturers.

'Although Asia is the leader in volume display manufacture, the UK is home to a lot of innovative businesses who are well placed to help progress the development of display technologies'.

'For us this mission is exceptionally important as it gives us the opportunity to show case the benefits of our OLED technology in front of companies that drive the display market', said Myrddin Jones, Chief Executive Officer, OLED-T.
